Session Overviews

impactful sessions to help today's generation

Next Gen Summit: Unfiltered is a one-day youth event built for middle and high school students. Through powerful worship, practical teaching, and engaging experiences, students will be challenged to live out an authentic, unfiltered faith in a filtered world.

Session 1

Dealing with Drama: Handling Conflict God’s Way

Conflict is a part of life—especially in middle and high school. In this real-talk workshop, we’ll look at what the Bible says about handling drama, conflict, and forgiveness with grace, truth, and maturity.

Darlene Dryer

Darlene is the devoted wife of an amazing pastor and mission strategist, proud mother to three beautiful daughters, and passionate about walking alongside others in ministry and life. She serves as the leader of the NAMB Replant Spouse Care team, where she encourages and equips ministry wives across the country. With a Master's degree in Christian Counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry in Counseling from Liberty University, Darlene counsels some of the strongest women in the world - helping them find healing, hope and resilience. A homeschool mom, ocean enthusiast and lover of travel, Darlene finds joy in the little moments and believes deeply in the power of faith, family and calling.

Session 2

Bible Study Hacks: How to Actually Understand It

The Bible can feel confusing or overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be. This hands-on session will give you simple tools, reading plans, and study methods to help you dig in and actually understand God’s Word for yourself.

James Schick

James Schick is a proud Michigander turned Floridian that will forever cheer for the Maize and Blue, as well as all things Detroit. When he's not teaching English at Haines City High School, you can find him tending a BBQ pit or planning the next great BBQ adventure. James has a wide array of student ministry experience over the past twenty-seven years ranging from student pastoring to camp counseling to traveling VBS evangelism to teaching in private and public school to sports coaching to raising six children of his own. While James is passionate about his Wolverines, his Detroit sports teams, and his quest for the world's greatest BBQ, his greatest passion is leading students into a growing relationship with Christ and finding their life's purpose in Him.

Session 3

Leadership at Your School: Influence Starts Now

You don’t need a title to be a leader. Whether you’re in a club, classroom, or sports team, this workshop will show you how to influence others for Christ right where you are—by leading with character, courage, and conviction.

Shannon Benton

Shannon is a former star player and coach for the Frostproof Bulldogs and now serves as the Area Director for the South Ridge & Heartland Division of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Central Florida. With a passion for reaching coaches and athletes, Shannon leads FCA ministry across Polk and Highlands counties, combining his love for sports with a deep commitment to sharing the gospel and building Christ-centered leaders.
